Our Foundation
In 2003 we established the Bella Foundation, which is dedicated to organizing all of our social support initiatives directed towards improving the quality of life of the children of Puerto Rico, providing educational opportunities and promoting community development on the Island. Bella Foundation activities are overseen by the Board of Directors, composed by the following members: Jerónimo Esteve-Abril, Mary Pineda de Esteve, María Isabel Esteve, Carlos López-Lay, Humberto Esteve- Abril, William Cuebas, Ginoris López-Lay, Aurelio Alemán and Ambar Rodriguez.
In addition to initiating all of these community efforts, Bella Foundation acknowledges the labor carried out by individuals who work for the well-being of their fellow citizens and renders tribute to the philanthropic spirit of the company’s founder of the Jerónimo Esteve Abril Award.
“These efforts reflect our corporate and humanitarian values, among which are highlighted honesty, integrity and a sense of service”, Carlos Lopez-Lay
By means of direct contributions exchanges, product donations and coordination of events, we donate approximately $600,000 annually to diverse non-profit organizations.
In 1996 we established the Honda Classic golf tournament, which has contributed approximately $1,000,000 to the Sacred Heart University’s Endowment Scholarship Fund for Exceptional Students. We have also held over fifteen editions of the Poker Rally. In this entertaining family event, hundreds of motorcyclists ride around the Island. By means of these efforts, we have contributed to organizations such as Hogar Cuna San Crístobal, Make a Wish Foundation, Children’s Hospital, Down Syndrome Foundation, the Salvation Army, the Smiles Foundation, the Red Cross, Sister Isolina Ferrer Centers, Alzheimer Foundation and the Caribbean Stranding Network, among many others.
Furthermore the donation of cars and aquatic vehicles has helped raise funds for the SER de Puerto Rico Telemarathon and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
As an example of our employee and management’s commitment to the Island’s well-being, our President, Carlos López-Lay and María Esteve, the Vice President of Marketing, have joined as members of the Board of Directors for organizations such as SER and the Puerto Rico Gala Foundation for Down Syndrome, among many others.
